In the morning of Monday October 12th Terminal Container Ravenna (TCR), Broström Tankers AB Adriatic gateway, welcomed the first call of m/v AS MARS, recently deployed by CMA CGM in its Malta Adriatic Feeder Service 1 (FAS 1), calling weekly at Ravenna.
The ship, with a L.O.A. of 159 meters and a nominal capacity of 1129 TEUs, was built in the Polish shipyard of Stocznia Gdynia and is part of a fleet of similar vessels whose name is dedicated to the planets and satellites of the solar system.
M/v AS Mars was berthed immediately upon her arrival in Ravenna, starting immediately the loading and discharging operations, completed in the early morning of the following day.
As customary in Ravenna, while operations were proceeding as scheduled, a ceremony for the maiden call was held on board the ship, with Michele Pagano (TCR Bert Planning Manager) presenting a customized crest to Chief Officer Mr. Aldrin Jimenez.
Confirming its ability in providing customers with effective Value Added solutions, TCR performed just cargo worthy inspection of 157empty containers of which 54were made available for the nominated bookings in the same day of discharge. At the same time 20 ctrs of coils discharged from AS Mars, were transferred to the CFS station for devanning, with cargo delivery to onward transportation being available the next day, releasing the inbound full units, once empty to be made available for cargo worth inspection and reuse, thus confirming TCR positive contribution to the efficiency of the end to supply chain.
