With her nominal capacity of 8,600 TEUs and a length out all of 300 meters, Hapag Lloyd operated CSAV Toconao made her maiden call at Cagliari International Container Terminal (CICT) on Wednesday April 27th.
Named after an ancient settlement in Chile's northern region, the ship is deployed in the Indian Ocean Service (IOS), connecting the Indian Subcontinent to North Europe via a double weekly call at CICT.
The deployment of the CSAV Toconao in the IOS is part of a service upgrade program, aimed at replacing current 6,000 TEUs ships with 8,000 plus TEUs units.
