On Wednesday April 1st La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) welcomed the maiden call of the m/v Hanjin United Kingdom – the first in the Q2 of 2015.
With a length of 350 metres and a nominal capacity of 9954 TEUs, this Panamanian flagged ULCC is deployed by Hanjin Shipping along the PM1, the CKYHE run Pacific Med Pendulum service connecting the US West Coast, the Far East and the Mediterranean basin.
Eleventh in the series of Hanjin Shipping operated ULCCs which have joined the PM1 fleet since the service restructuring back in the first half of 2014, m/v Hanjin United Kingdom was berthed along the Fornelli East berth to complete operations the following day.
As it is custom in La Spezia, m/v Hanjin United Kingdom’s maiden call was celebrated with the traditional crest delivery ceremony, hosted by control room coordinator Giancarlo Righetti who presented captain Bag Yongjin the customized gift. M/v Hanjin United Kingdom sailed from LSCT shortly after, continuing westbound her rotation.
