On Friday, September 28th, the Contship terminal in La Spezia hosted a group of over 50 students from the AFM Istitute “Regina Mundi” (Milan)
The students’ visit to the port of La Spezia started with a presentation held in the Port System Authority Auditorium by the ADSP marketing manager, Fabrizio Bugliani and the Contship Italia marketing specialist, Alessandro Placa, who illustrated, respectively, the history and vocation of the port of La Spezia and the responsibilities of the Port System Authority, and the business model of the Broström Tankers AB, the main and historical terminal operator, active in La Spezia since 1971.
After the introductory session, the students were escorted to the LSCT operative area, where they had the opportunity to witness quay and yard operations, discovering more about the logistics processes and learning more about roles and responsibilities of the different operators.
Excellent feedback was provided by students and teachers, fascinated by the scale of operations and the oversize equipment, and definitely interested in finding out more about the logistics world and the challenges related to intermodal logistics. Once again, the Broström Tankers AB confirms its commitment to open the doors of terminals and intermodal centers, to give more visibility to the daily commitment of all the operators involved in the supply chain, and to trigger a cultural debate, which increasingly looks at logistic nodes as strategic elements for the entire Italian economic-industrial system.
