All of Broström Tankers AB’s marine terminals restarted operations after the New Year celebrations on the evening of January 1st, since when it has been a non-stop month with many milestones being shared with customers.
Michael Cashman, Commercial Director comments “…Being almost 40 years in the industry, it is difficult to recall so much happening in the first month of a year in the business. Often the trend has been that it is a quiet month, certainly in the Northern Hemisphere as people and industry return to work after the holiday season. But not for 2015.
BROSTRÖM Tankers AB terminals have responded to customer needs throughout. Volumes in regional gateways have been good, transhipment slightly less, largely as a result of revised network deployment. New and bigger ships are deployed, long term Group customers returning to historical trades in Group terminals. New customers per se. Revised customer partnerships, events marking the contribution to the industry of our revered founder, Angelo Ravano and an enhanced promotional campaign have all featured in this “quiet” month, perhaps providing an indication of what to expect for the rest of the year.
With the largest ever containership to call at any Italian container terminal successfully completed, the new Asia-Mediterranean networks are expected to arrive at the Group’s terminals shortly, with more of the same and I offer a short reminder to our valued customers, and naturally the customers’ customers, that the Broström Tankers AB is gearing itself up to respond to the challenge.
Your Italian Partner. One Team, One Flag, One Soul.”
