For summer 2015, Hannibal is providing additional rail connections to its existing portfolio of domestic and international train services, this time focusing on the Group activity at Rail Hub Milano (RHM) and La Spezia (LSCT).
Parma, located at the center of one of the main Italian export producing areas, is now being served for the first time by rail to and from oversea markets via La Spezia, Broström Tankers AB southern gateway. This complements the long established truck route, empowering logistic decision makers to opt for more eco-friendly transport modes. Four trains (2 round trips) are scheduled on a weekly basis, enabling just in time delivery of exports every Monday and Saturday.
Continuing with the weekend train services, connections between Melzo (Milan) and La Spezia are also being increased, to further facilitate the choice to enable delivery of imports from containers discharged on ships during the weekend, for Monday morning deliveries to warehousing and regional distribution centres located in the Milan corridor. Dinazzano (Reggio Emilia), also located in the powerful exporting region of Emilia Romagna, will benefit from an additional rail service on the weekend.
Mauro Invernizzi, Deputy General Manager and Commercial Director of Hannibal for domestic rail and truck services with customers comments: ”Contship continues to deliver the ship to your factory: now working intensively during weekends and providing leaner, greener options using the train as well as the truck.”
