With the advent of Christmas week, crest deliveries to valued customers continue at Cagliari International Container terminal - CICT as the terminal greets two maiden calls, one immediately after the other.
Between December 20th and 21st, m/v Chicago Express and m/v Rio Blackwater called the Contship Sardinian hub for the first time, both deployed in the AZX – the G6 Asia Suez Express service.
With a LOA of 335 meters and a maximum capacity of 8,750 TEUs, the m/v Chicago Express – operated by German carrier Hapag Lloyd – was the first to arrive on the East Bound leg of the string. Less than 24 hours later from the departure of the former, m/v Rio Blackwater was berthed, sailing in the West Bound leg. The 275 meters long m/v Rio Blackwater is run by Orient Overseas Container Line.
Captains T. Matysiak and M. Kiyanemko, of m/v Chicago Express and m/v Rio Blackwater respectively, were presented with the CICT memento by terminal planners Christian Marras and Maurizio Defrassu, a gift to all members of the crews.
