The arrival the Liverpool Express on Monday January 30th marked the second maiden call of 2017 at Contship Italia’s Sardinian hub.
On this occasion, the 4,121 teu ship phased-in to the Mediterranean Gulf Express (MGX), one of four services linking Cagliari to the North American continent. Earlier in the month the Seaspan Dalian also successfully phased-in to the MGX service switching from the Mediterranean Pacific Service (MPS).
Cagliari International Container Terminal has successfully managed and supported its valued customers with the phasing in and out of vessels, helping to maintain and safeguard schedule integrity.
On this occasion is was Hapag Lloyd, operator of the Liverpool Express and pictured is her Captain, Florian Bottger who was presented with a customized crest by CICT planner Andrea Pontis.
Following completion of cargo operations the ship sailed on time from CICT to her next port of call.
