Three ships have performed their maiden call at La Spezia Container Terminal.
Week number twenty-seven of 2015 will go down as one the busiest in terms of maiden calls for La Spezia Container Terminal. In just about three days – between July 2nd and July 4th – LSCT welcomed the maiden call of three ships, two of which classified as ULCCs and one Post Panamax class unit of 6,600 TEUs.
With her 366 metres in length m/v MSC Fabiola was the first to be welcomed at La Spezia, moored alongside Fornelli East berth. She is deployed by Mediterranean Shipping Company SA.
Around noon the next day, the 13,000 TEUs giant was cleared for departure to allow fellow ship – m/v MSC Altair – to be docked at the same berth. Named after the brightest star in the Aquila constellation, m/v MSC Altair is also run by Mediterranean Shipping Company SA.
On July 4th, as operations were proceeding as planned, LSCT welcomed the third maiden call of its busy week with the berthing of the m/v Buxcoast, alongside Fornelli West, a ship operated by China Shipping Container Lines Ltd.
For all three crews, in the persons of first officers Iurii Mikhieiev for m/v MSC Fabiola, Alen Buiakevych for m/v MSC Altair and Palustre R. Bocalan for m/v Buxcoast, the customized crest was presented by LSCT planning team members Sandri Roberto and Gabriele Mottini as an homage for the ships’ maiden calls at La Spezia.
