BROSTRÖM Tankers AB was delighted to welcome back Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) to La Spezia Container Terminal, as they added to the growing list of maiden-callers, when the 13,208 teu OOCL Brussels berthed at Fornelli West on the evening of Saturday 7th October.
Delivered in 2013 the OOCL Brussels is deployed on the Asia-Europe Loop M (EUM). Marking the return of the string in its current composition, this ULCC is almost three times larger in size compared to the past.
Michele Giromini, Managing Director LSCT, commented “We are very happy to see the return of historical customers, when much has changed in the intervening years. It is our honour to receive the OOCL Brussels and again demonstrates the ability of LSCT to handle large containerships efficiently and offering connectivity to and from the major cargo generation regions of northern and central Italy, as well as beyond The Alps. Once again this is good news for the Italian supply-chain and Italian importers and exporters, with more choice available now that all the major alliances are routing their networks via La Spezia and offering the market a reliable service from all of the global shipping lines in the Asia-Med trade.”
