During April and May, Contship’s Gateway Port on the Adriatic Sea, hosted the audit authority SGS Italia S.p.A in order to receive renewal of the three-year OHSAS 18001 (Safety) and UNI EN ISO 14001 (Environmental) certifications.
The tests conducted by SGS Italia greatly challenged the entire QSE system, as they trialled the whole integrated structure managed by TCR, focusing also on system documentations and the respect of legal frameworks.
After the tests were completed – with full success – the Terminal obtained renewal of the certifications, that have been continuously approved since 2006 (Safety) and 2009 (Environment). Contship Terminal in Ravenna therefore confirms commitment in maintaining highly integrated workplace safety and environmental standards.
Terminal QSE Manager Federico Masotti was very satisfied with the outcome of the tests: “Renewal of the two certifications once again proves that TCR is at forefront when it comes to Quality, Safety and Environmental standards – these are the pillars of our Terminal. It’s vital to never lower our guard on these matters, and to always stay alert. It’s a very tough challenge, but it is extremely stimulating. These principles are entrenched in all terminal staff, constantly supervised by QSE direction - commitment and proficiency is what brings positive results.”
