TCR increases the number of reefer plugs available in the terminal

TCR continues to improve its service offer to support the supply chain of perishable goods, which require controlled-temperature transport and storage: 80 new reefer plugs have been installed to satisfy operational requirements and ensure continuity in the power supply of reefer containers.

TCR - Terminal Container Ravenna confirms its vocation of special port for special products and pole of excellence for perishable goods trades, as it continues to invest to provide the best possible service, through a new structure which will substantially increase the number of reefer plugs available in the terminal.

With this new structure, the total number of electric plugs dedicated to reefer containers will reach 250 units, which represents a relevant number, considering the size of the terminal. With this upgrade, TCR will be able to guarantee power supply continuity during the peak season, when a higher number of units is handled and temporarily stored in the yard.

According to MarketsandMarkets, the global refrigerated transport market is estimated to be valued at USD 15.5 billion in 2019 and is projected to reach USD 21.6 billion by 2025, recording a CAGR of 5.8% from 2019 to 2025. The growth of the refrigerated transport market is attributed to the increasing trade of perishable commodities at a global level, as lower tariffs enable ease of cross-border movement of perishable goods.

“Fast operations, availability of controlled-temperature warehouses and Container Freight Stations for cargo consolidation & deconsolidation, and experience in perishable goods management, make the port of Ravenna and TCR terminal a pole of excellence for perishable goods trades” comments Mr. Alessandro Battolini, TCR Sales & Business Development Manager – “We will continue to offer a high-quality service to our customers, focusing on the unique characteristics of each operator and product.
