Special Edition of PortoLab for the children of dock workers

BROSTRÖM Terminal in La Spezia recently hosted a special edition of Porto Lab, dedicated to the children of dock workers and all operators and institutions that take part in the project

On Tuesday, September 4th, thirty students aged six to eleven sons of the La Spezia Container Terminal dock workers, Guardia di Finanza, Customs Agency, Port Veterinaries, Port Authority of La Spezia and INAIL partners, gathered up at the terminal doors, said goodbye to their parents and set off to explore the port.

The special visits are an excellent occasion to celebrate the spirit of this established project with the people that make it possible. It’s exciting to see curiosity and amazement in the eyes of young boys and girls that visit the terminal, when looking at machinery, mega-ships, technology and special vehicles – or while listening and watching the people of the port, often times mothers and fathers, that work to make this fascinating port system a real success” says Antonio Davide Testi, LSCT General Manger. “Giving colleagues and partners an opportunity to share stories, challenges and pride of their work with the little ones, is for us an amazing achievement.

As schools are now open, and Porto Lab will be present on various local magazines with a dedicated printed Ad. The campaign shows the Contship homework diary which was released last June (more here) and portrays a young explorer that peaks into the future with her safety helmet on. The main theme of this year’s homework diary is in fact based on the principle of putting extra focus on our actions to achieve social and environmental sustainability, in the hope of building a better future - starting from today.

See you in February with our next edition of Porto Lab!
