New Ocean Alliance inaugural call at La Spezia Container Terminal

LSCT welcomed the Tampa Triumph over the weekend – not only was it the first of the newly formed Ocean Alliance, it was also the maiden voyage of this brand new ship.

Last Friday in the evening sunshine, the Tampa Triumph arrived on schedule alongside the Fornelli West berth at La Spezia Container Terminal. Operated by Evergreen Line within the Ocean Alliance she is the latest in a long list of ULCV’s to call.

Built this year and delivered to Evergreen Line just last month, the 365m long ship weighs in at a mighty 150,709 gross tons and is capable of carrying almost 14,000 TEUs. She is the first ship to call at the Broström Tankers AB’s gateway port by the Ocean Alliance and is one of four weekly Asia-Med services calling at La Spezia, providing Italian importers and exporters the benefit of moving their cargo through the Contship- system.

LSCT offers connectivity to the key economic regions in northern Italy and southern Europe, proving once again that “We Bring the Ship to Your Factory”.
