CICT and its staff remain at the heart of the community in line with the Contship approach – bringing a smile to the faces of young patients in hospital during the Christmas period.
As well as celebrating during their own Christmas party, the staff held fund raising events via a lottery, with proceeds being used to buy toys for the children at the “Microcitemico” hospital in Cagliari.
The intense research activity in recent years has helped it to gain a reputation as one of the leading European centers for its contribution to the diagnosis and treatment of genetic and “rare” diseases and illnesses.
“It is heartwarming to witness the biggest of smiles of joy and happiness on the faces of the youngsters when we handed over the presents. The kids’ smiles are indeed their present to us…” commented Andrea Scarone, head of HR in CICT.
Father Christmas, in the guise of Franco Cupolo, Managing Director, adds: “The business is important. We are producers. But we must never forget there are other important things. We wish these kids to celebrate Christams at home as soon as possible. The fund raising idea was done by the current team and I extend to them on behalf of the kids a special thanks to all colleagues for making this very special Christmas, as we, CICT remain a global business at the heart of the community".
