LSCT: una maiden call…milionaria!

On November 3rd 2015 La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) welcomed its latest maiden call with the berthing of m/v Box Hong Kong along Fornelli East.

Built by Korean Samsung Heavy Industries, the 5,344 TEUs Post Panamax ship is deployed by Mediterranean Shipping Co. SA in the Levante Express, a service linking the East and West shores of the Mediterranean to ports in Northern Europe.

Moored at dusk, operations on the m/v Box Hong Kong concluded the next day, with the terminal handling its 1,000,000th TEU of 2015 on board the ship around 1.00 pm in the afternoon. Prior to departure, the crest delivery ceremony took place on deck. This time a very special occasion, LSCT ship planner Roberto Sandri boarded m/v Box Hong Kong to present the crew of 16 members – represented by chief officer Jose T. Molan – with the customized crest, a memento of a day which will certainly be remembered by both the terminal and the crew.
