Learning Containerization and Logistics in the maritime ports of Sapir and TCR

On Wednesday, March 6th, students from the 8th IFTS Course in Production and Logistics Programming, visited the Sapir and TCR terminals in Ravenna

The class was made up of 20 students, accompanied by Professor Daniela Mignani from ITL Foundation, partner of the training project. Students had the chance to visit the port infrastructures and to directly interact with the operations managers, who showcased the specs and details of the terminal facilities, underlining the importance of having qualified staff and personnel in the terminal.

The IFTS course is an important reference point for port and logistics industries – as Giannantoio Mingozzi also confirmed while welcoming students with Mr. Michele Eviani, member of the project’s Technical and Scientific Committee. “Every new profession in the port, logistics and container transport industry must be familiar with the world of terminals and their operations” explained Mingozzi, “TCR in particular represents the access and exit point for the Mediterranean, with whom it shares competitive and frequent connections. With the aid of transshipment ports, the port allows goods and their manufacturers to reach any destination”.

Mingozzi also underlined how connections with Dinazzano and Melzo allow good to access Center and North Europe - it is in fact the first year that Melzo has a direct connection with China.
