Saturday February 21st 2015 – With the first call at La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) of Seago Line’s newly formed Algiers Sea service, the La Spezia System has further enhanced the opportunities for regional connection with Algeria.
With the first call at La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) of Seago Line’s newly formed Algiers Sea service on Saturday February 21st 2015, the La Spezia System has further enhanced the opportunities for regional connection towards one of the fastest-growing north African economies – Algeria, and of course the neighbouring markets. Seago Line, a new comer to the portfolio of LSCT’s valued customers, will be now operating the intra-Med string on a weekly basis.
Michele Giromini – LSCT managing director – commented how “…both our valued customers and ourselves understand the need and importance of providing an all-round service portfolio to/from La Spezia. The additional intra-Med service as the Algiers Sea enhances the possibility to develop new traffic with the cluster of developing Maghreb markets, as Seago Line acknowledges both the operational reliability of our terminal in delivering a consistent performance and the value added coming from taking advantage of the optimum logistics of the La Spezia System. It’s definitely an opportunity for both and we thank our customer for this.”
To celebrate the maiden voyage on the Algiers Sea, as well as the maiden call of the M/v Maersk Funchal, ship captain Anatoliy Zhukov was presented by an LSCT team headed by Fabio Ghirarduzzi a special celebrative crest. M/v Maersk Funchal sailed from LSCT the same day.
