But this is not only the name of one of the municipalities of Suzhou, a city bordering Shanghai, Taicang is also the name – full name m/v Cosco Taicang - of a 10,000 TEU ULCC, deployed by Cosco Container Lines Ltd in the Pacific Med Pendulum 1 (PM1/MD1), a jointly run service linking three continents together, with calls on the West Coast of the United States, Far East Asia and the Mediterranean.
A length of 348.5 metres, m/v Cosco Taicang was berthed alongside Fornelli West berth on Tuesday July 14th, with LSCT performing a total of some 3,000 contract moves.
For the ship’s maiden call, in line with tradition, Paolo Rasi - LSCT planning team – presented captain Zheng Fang with a personalized crest, a gift that was greatly appreciated by the crew members present at the ceremony.
