The completion of operations of the largest containership operated by The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd., A Government of India Enterprise, calling at the Contship transshipment hub in the port of Gioia Tauro greeted the first official day of spring 2016.
With an LOA of 316 meters and a nominal capacity of 8,550 TEUs, m/v Seroja Empat is deployed in the joint service linking the Indian sub-continent, Mediterranean and North Europe Trades, with the MCT team supporting the network operating two calls per week, both inbound and outbound to provide high speed and efficient connections to multiple markets in the region.
Prior to its actual departure during the early hours of March 1st, as well as greeting the first hours of a new season, Captain Vijay was presented with the customized crest by terminal planner Vincenzo Monumeci, a memento for the ship’s maiden call (in photo).
