Box China ship on Australia Express services calls at LSCT and MCT for a “double maiden call’’.
Deployed by Mediterranean Shipping Co SA in the Australia Express service – a string calling ports across four continents – the m/v Box China was berthed first at La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) on February 4th alongside Fornelli West.
A few days later on Sunday 7th, Contship Italia’s mega hub in Gioia Tauro – Medcenter Container Terminal (MCT) – saw the arrival of the same 5,350 TEUs ship.
Prior to the completion of operations in both terminals, Romanian captain Timofei Gheorghe and first officer Cosmin-Alin Voicu were presented with the customized crest by planners Roberto Sandri and Ignazio Punturiero of LSCT and MCT respectively, a memento of the ship’s first ever calls at La Spezia and Gioia Tauro.
