Maiden Call in LSCT of Maersk Kobe on the TA6 / Medgulf service.
Named after one of Japan largest industrial centers – and fourth busiest national port – m/v Maersk Kobe called at La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) for the first time on October 26th, mooring at dusk.
A Post Panamax Plus class ship, with her 6,420 TEUs in nominal capacity and a L.O.A. of 300.40 meters, the ship is deployed by Maersk Line AS in the jointly run TA6 service – also known as MedGulf – linking in a loop the Mediterranean to ports in the US Gulf region.
Load and discharge operations aboard the ship lasted less than 24 hours, with m/v Maersk Kobe departing from Fornelli West berth in the afternoon the following day.
Prior to departure, tradition was respected as the ship’s crew, in the person of second officer Vitalii Bezruchko, was presented the customized crest by LSCT planning team member Paolo Rasi.
