Latest ship debut at Cagliari International Container Terminal (CICT) saw m/v Atacama make her maiden call on July 20th.
Operated by German carrier Hapag Lloyd A.G., the 9,030 TEUs ship was recently phased into the Indian Ocean service (IOS), continuing the capacity upgrade program started some months ago.
Named after the famed Chilean desert, the ship and its crew were welcomed at the Sardinian hub with the delivery of the traditional crest. Master Mykhaylo Kourov was presented with the memento of the occasion by Maurizio Defrassu, CICT vessel planning team.
