Three new Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMGs) have now arrived in TCR for final assembly.
The equipment arrived by ship on October 4th, with the TCR Team, long experienced in handling Project Cargo, efficiently performing unloading operations of the various RMG components and their transfer to the yard assembly area. All activities were completed successfully in the late afternoon of October 7th, 3 days ahead of the original timetable, with no impact on TCR daily activities, confirming the reputation of TCR as ….. The Special port for special products.
The new cranes, ordered by TCR from Liebherr on July 2015 for a total of 10 million euros, represent another milestone in the 24 million euros investment in equipment modernization that TCR began pursuing in 2014.
“TCR continues with its investment plan to support our valued customers” – commented Milena Fico, TCR General Manager. “After the revamping of two STS cranes to post-panamax standard completed in 2014 and with a brand new crane recently ordered and to be delivered by the end of 2017, the three RMGs mark further important steps in our effort to enable TCR to achieve higher operational standards.”
